What VR&E is, in plain language
Veteran Readiness and Employment, VR&E, is the VA benefit for veterans and service members whose service-connected disability makes it harder to work. It used to be called Vocational Rehabilitation. Here's how it works.
Who qualifies
You may be eligible with a service-connected disability rating of at least 10% from VA and a discharge that was not dishonorable.
No time limit anymore
If you were discharged on or after January 1, 2013, there's no time limit on your eligibility. The old 12-year window only applies to earlier discharges.
How you start
You apply with VA Form 28-1900. Then you meet with a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, and together you build a rehabilitation plan and pick one of five tracks.

This is a voluntary service we offer. It is not a partnership, contract, or endorsement, and ResumeYourWay is not affiliated with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Do I have to be referred by VR&E?
